Welcome to 7th Grade Social Studies!
Let’s get ready to travel the Eastern Hemisphere! We will be learning about the physical features, climate, culture, and history of the countries found in the Eastern Hemisphere. Seventh grade social studies is divided into multiple sections. The first part will be a review of world geography including geography terms used and the five themes of geography. This part of the class will give us the review needed to move on to the countries of the Eastern Hemisphere. Our focus for the rest of the school year will be Asia, Africa and Europe. We will learn about the different regions and what makes them special. We will also learn historical and current information about the countries and their people
We will do a variety of activities in class. The majority of our work will be completed in class although you will have homework occasionally. Make sure you turn in all of your work ON TIME!!! Late work will be addressed on an individual basis.
As always, you will be expected to respect all and be responsible for you. You will need to come to class ready to learn. Make sure you have your supplies.
You will need a folder and a notebook for social studies. We will have handouts and notes that you will need to keep and bring to class.
Your grade will be based on total points earned. What will you be graded on?
