The Fourth Grade Team has planned several class trips for the school year.
Your child will enjoy an autumn trip to Forts Folle Avoine Historical Park in Danbury, WI. The park is a living history site with fur trade posts reconstructed at the actual site know to be active from 1802 to 1805. In addition to the Forts, is a re-created Woodland Indian Village.
The Forts Folle Avoine site is unique for several reasons: the exact place of the wintering posts was found, the posts had been undisturbed for over 200 years allowing archaeologists a pure site to investigate, and two competing companies were at the same location.
Your child will also enjoy an outdoor adventure to the Chippewa Moraine Ice Age Trail in New Auburn, WI. This trip is an exciting outdoor classroom illustrating the creation of mile-thick glaciers and the study of the animals that lived during the ice age.
