Hello, this is Diane Tremblay, Superintendent of our Barron Area School District.
We are in our home stretch of our school year, and this will be my last weekly message for 2019-2020, in hopes that we will be seeing all of our Golden Bears back in the buildings this fall and some of you this summer.
PLEASE stay tuned to our website for continued information regarding our Food Security plans through June and also summer school details in July. Updates can be found at www.barron.k12.wi.us or you can continue calling and emailing as needed.
Our BHS Commons will be open again from 7:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. tomorrow, June 3rd for Food Security. You will be greeted at the front doors of the commons and given safe instructions for pick-up.
We are happy to announce that we will continue with Food Security through the month of June; however, it will look a little different. We will have BHS commons open from 7:00 am-10:00 am and 3:00 pm-6:00 pm in order to accommodate families before and after typical work hours. We no longer will have delivery services.
BHS student laptop collections will be June 4th (11th grade), June 5th (10th grade) and June 8th (9th grade). Students should return their laptop and all other school materials to the high school commons between 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Laptops should be cased, chargers placed in the front pocket, and the laptop should be clearly labeled with the student’s name.
We want as many high School students as possible in participating in fall sports; therefore, we have set dates and times to pick up eligibility forms at the high school commons. Eligibility forms will be available at the following times:
June 3rd - 7:00 am. - 6:00 p.m.
June 4th, 5th, and 8th - 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Riverview Middle School Commons will be open on June 3rd for students and families to pick up their reserved yearbook and to drop off curriculum materials, school issued property such as school textbooks, library books, classroom novels and band instruments.
We are really looking forward to our 8th grade celebration drive through tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m., for details please check our district website. Also, in order to commemorate our 4th graders this year, who are transitioning into middle school, I hope you can pay a visit to our three elementary locations as we have something special up on our buildings.
We are very hopeful that we will be offering summer school in July and August, so stay tuned as we prepare for these exciting enrichment programs for your kids.
In closing, I would like to again, thank all of our BASD families for your positive partnership during this historic school year.
Stay strong, stay kind and together we will stay Golden!!
