Parents/Guardians - Please follow the process outlined below for a change in your child's daily transportation routine:
Requests for changes to your child's bus transportation arrangement must be communicated to the school office no later than 1:30 pm daily. This deadline applies to any alterations to the bus transportation schedule, such as changes to the drop off location or any other adjustments related to bus transportation. By implementing this 1:30 pm deadline, we aim to enhance our ability to organize and coordinate bus transportation efficiently, insuring the safety and well-being of all our students. Your cooperation and timely communication will help us as we work together to prioritize a secure and smooth bus transportation experience for our students. While our general process is to adhere to the 1:30 pm deadline for changes to bus transportation arrangements, we understand that family, medical, custodial emergencies can arise. If you find yourself facing an emergency after the 1:30 pm deadline, please contact your child's school office to discuss your specific circumstances and work together on a solution.
Student Conduct on Buses:
A student being transported by district school buses shall conduct him/herself in accordance with established bus rider rules at all times. Bus drivers shall be responsible for establishing and maintaining discipline of students while riding on the bus.
Any student whose conduct is not in compliance with the driver's direction shall be reported to the principal or Dean of Students. The bus driver may recommend a suspension of the student's bus privileges for serious or repeated violations of bus rules. When such a referral is made, the following procedure shall be followed:
1. The bus driver will complete the disciplinary referral and turn it into the Dean of Students.
2. The principal or Dean of Students (licensed administrator) will confront the student as soon as possible.
3. The principal or Dean of Students may suspend the student for an appropriate time, taking into account the number and/or severity of the underlying offense(s).
4. The principal or Dean of Students must notify the parents and the transportation supervisor of any suspension, and the dates of such suspension.
5. The principal or Dean of Students will notify the bus driver of the same.
No student will be suspended from the bus without parent notification. A suspension may be appealed to the district administrator within 24 hours of such notification, in which case the suspension shall not go into effect until the appeal has been decided and the parents have been notified of the results. The decision of the district administrator shall be considered final for all purposes.
