How do I enroll in ALAW if I am out of district?
ALAW has a Wisconsin public school program which offers BYU-Independent Study and Lincoln Learning Education online courses that are administered by Wisconsin-certified instructors. In order to enroll in ALAW, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction requires Wisconsin residents not living in the Barron Area School District to fill out an open enrollment form: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment .
What does a typical day look like for me?
While the start of your school day is typically more flexible than a traditional brick and mortar school, ALAW highly recommends students have a daily schedule they follow. This schedule should include breaks and a minimum of one hour a day per class/subject.
How do I connect with my teachers?
Your teachers will send you a welcome email at the beginning of each semester. That email will contain all the information you will need to be able to contact your teachers.
What if I am struggling with my classes?
ALAW teachers truly enjoy meeting their students in their virtual classroom or via phone call. Meeting with your teacher on a regular basis is encouraged!
