Full Time Montessori Elementary Guide
Our school is looking to expand! Seeking an Elementary teacher to begin 2021-22 school year. If you are ready to begin your career as an educator, and do not yet have your Montessori training completed, this position is perfect for you. You’ll have the time necessary to complete the coursework in the summer or academic year without the stress of tuition payments. It’s an exciting time to consider a career as an Elementary Guide at the Barron Area Montessori School in Almena, Wisconsin! Only 90 miles from the Twin Cities metro, Almena is a rural community located at the gateway to Wisconsin’s northern vacationland. As a free public charter school in the Barron Area School District, the community supports various educational opportunities. The Barron Area Montessori School (BAMS) was established in 2007 and is nestled within the Almena Elementary School building.
Haven’t finished or started Montessori training yet? BAMS is offering a partial to full tuition scholarship to the selected candidate. With Montessori training centers located throughout the country, this is a tremendous opportunity. The school is also offering a full benefits package including health, dental, and retirement matching in addition to a generous compensation package. Barron Area School District also services a high percentage of students qualifying for free/reduced lunch which qualifies you for student loan forgiveness on your past debt while employed in the district. A Bachelor's Degree is required, but not necessarily a teaching degree.
In cozy environments designed with Montessori philosophy in mind, our Guides work collaboratively with an Aide to foster in children a love and motivation for learning. Among our professionals, you’ll find a strong sense of teamwork and partnership—whether you’re looking to share past experiences as a seasoned Guide or seeking mentorship as a new Guide. You’ll find the support here at Barron Area Montessori School.
Our mission is to provide an exceptional Montessori experience that maximizes each child’s potential to positively shape their world. In alignment with our school’s mission, Elementary students are encouraged to plan and participate in “goings out”. Our surrounding community as a whole provides limitless options for goings out - a public library, local shops, corporate stores, restaurants, parks, and many more! There is much for students to explore in our outdoor surroundings with large playground areas, nearby woods, creeks, and ponds. All Barron Area Montessori School students are invited to participate in the annual Barnebirkie cross country ski event in Hayward, WI as our all school field trip. This event provides opportunity for outdoor adventure as well as engagement in a lifelong activity.
Currently, the school hosts a Children’s House classroom for ages 3-kindergarten and one elementary classroom for grades 1-4. Next year, this will include grades 1-5 and a team teaching approach will be in place with an experienced guide and new hire. Barron Area Montessori School Guides have AMI and AMS training. We are open to individuals with training approved by MACTE, so all interested candidates should apply.
